GU Student Awards 2025

The Gulf University Student Awards 2025 recognize excellence in academics, leadership, and community involvement. These awards celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students, inspiring future generations to excel and contribute to society.

Categories

Academic Excellence Award

Awarded to students with the highest grades in their field, recognizing exceptional academic performance throughout the year.

Honoring students who demonstrate exceptional leadership and initiative, inspiring others through their actions and contributions.

This award is dedicated to honoring students who demonstrate exceptional talent, creativity, and innovation across a wide range of disciplines.

Volunteering and Community Service

Volunteering and community service involve individuals dedicating their time and skills to support and improve their communities. Through selfless acts of service, volunteers contribute to various causes, promoting social welfare, unity, and positive change in society.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. 1All nominations must be submitted using the online Student Awards nomination form by 11:59 PM on Thursday, 24 April 2025 (Bahrain time).
  2. 2The nominee must be a currently enrolled student at Gulf University – Bahrain.
  3. 3Nominations can be made by students, staff, faculty members, or members of the public, including family or friends. Self-nominations are also welcome.
  4. 4Nominations must clearly explain how the nominee has demonstrated: academic excellence, leadership skills or innovative initiatives, community involvement and volunteer work, and positive contributions to campus life at Gulf University.
  5. 5You may nominate more than one student across different award categories.
  6. 6Each nomination must be submitted for one category of award only.
  7. 7If needed, Gulf University reserves the right to move nominations to a more appropriate category.
  8. 8Gulf University also reserves the right to determine final eligibility for all award nominations.
  9. 9Award winners will be invited to participate in at least one student engagement or university community activity during the year, such as: sharing their story or experience, speaking at a student event or workshop, or supporting other student-led initiatives.

Students Ineligible for the Student Awards

  • Honorary students at Gulf University (unless also currently enrolled).
  • Current members of the University's Board of Governors or its official committees.
  • Active politicians or Heads of State.

Shortlisting and Student Voting Process

  1. 1Shortlisting will be conducted by designated university staff after the nomination deadline based on the eligibility criteria.
  2. 2Finalists will be published on the university website, and voting will open through email and social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  3. 3The voting will be open to Gulf University students, faculty, and staff.
  4. 4Each person may cast one vote per category only. Duplicate or multiple votes will not be counted.
  5. 5Winners will be determined based on the highest number of verified votes.

Students 50%
Staff 25%
Faculty 25%

Announcing the Winners

Winners will be announced during the Student Awards Ceremony held on campus on 18th June 2025. All finalists will be invited to attend. The ceremony will also be live streamed for wider participation.

An additional Special Recognition Award may be given by the University Awards Committee from among the runners-up. Winners will be celebrated publicly through the university's website, social media platforms, and internal publications.
