Title: Lecturer
College: Engineering
Department: Mechanical Engineering
As a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, my teaching philosophy centers on encouraging a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical application of engineering principles. I believe that effective teaching goes beyond the show of knowledge; it involves engaging students in active learning experiences that connect theoretical concepts to real-world applications. In my classroom, I develop a variety of instructional methods, including collaborative projects, hands-on labs, and technology-enhanced learning tools. I encourage students to work in teams, simulating the collaborative nature of the engineering field, while also emphasizing the importance of individual accountability.
Mr. Mohamed Abdulhameed worked as an Operations and Maintenance Engineer at a power plant for more than the last decade, where he enhanced his technical expertise and problem-solving abilities while ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards. Currently, he is a Lecturer at Gulf University, where he applies his extensive industry knowledge to enrich the academic experience for students. As a member of the Teaching Learning and Assessment Committee and the Community Engagement Committee, he actively contributes to curriculum development and fosters connections between the university and the broader community. Additionally, he is involved in organizing the 3rd International Conference on Science, Engineering and Advanced Technology (ICSEAT 2024).
Mr. Mohamed Abdulhameed’s research interests are related to Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), Renewable Energy, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics and simulation modelling using ANSYS Fluent software.
