Gulf University participates in a Walkathon in support of cancer patients

A number of members of the Academic staff of Gulf University and its students participated in the Bahrain
Walkathon held by the Bahrain Cancer Society last Friday in the Gulf of Bahrain in support of cancer patients.

Gulf University professors and students joined more than 2,000 participants from different age groups in this event.
 The participation of the University comes within the framework of its support to awareness raising efforts on breast cancer.

Dr. Baligh Bishr, Head of the Department of Management Sciences at Gulf University, said: ‘We have been very pleased to attend
and participate in this event which confirms our full support and cooperation with cancer patients. Also, we feel delighted to help
them fight and overcome this malignant disease.’

Moreover, Dr. Ehab Nazmi, Head of college of Accounting and Financial Systems, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Cancer Society
 for setting up these events that raise the awareness of the society about cancer, which he described as a threat to every human being.

The student of accounting and financial systems, Maryam Al Ansari, said: ‘As students, we are keen to support cancer patients and
we encourage women to frequently do checkups for early detection of cancer. We also thank the Cancer Society for these activities
and awareness programs. We also thank Gulf University for the opportunity to participate in this event.’

It is worth mentioning that Gulf University is one of the leading private universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain,
which is active from 2001. It has four Bachelor degrees, namely: Media, Accounting and Financial Systems, Human Resources Management and Interior Design
