The General Sciences Department was established in the academic year 2016/2017 by the University Council. Its major aim was to support the previously established academic programs. Courses taught at this department are: mathematics, statistics, physics, Arabic and English language, Human rights, Islamic culture and modern History of Bahrain. Also, in alignment with Gulf University vision and core values, the department sought the need of introducing new course that nurture the students’ mind and allows him/her to be responsible learners and citizens. These classes include sustainability, and innovation and entrepreneurship. The department’s main goal is not only to support the academic programs but also to equip students with 21st century skills and attributes.

College Community Engagement Arranged Online Workshops

A table below shows a summary of online workshops for academic year 2019-2020. Although due to the current pandemic, practical face-to face activities have been replaced by online theoretical workshops. The workshops provided aim at sharing the knowledge and expertise and staying connected with the community even at such testing times. The objectives of the workshops vary and cover different topics from refrigeration cycle, lasers and their engineering applications.
